    Matthias Guenther (Quark):

    Hi, LTD,

    LTD:
Utilities menu, second item from the bottom. A small palette window that lists text overflow boxes. Pretty neat.

I must be getting old. Of course, the XML Import XT adds this (which I have disabled as I personally never import XML on the Desktop). You are right, I add this as a bug.

    Best
    Matthias

You don't have to deal with XML to take advantage of the Text Overflow palette. Vikas contacted me the other day and the bug with the palette has been logged in the system. Thanks.

That's true, however I am using Job Jackets to find overflowing text, so I don't need this XT. You can alternatively use Type Tricks to find overflowing text.

So you have three ways of finding these.

    Thanks
    Matthias

Oh, that overflow text palette… I hoped about one showing the overflowed text (or at least giving some info about)…
That's what it does. It shows you the page number of the overflowed text and the first few words of the para. And if you click the Show button it takes you to that text box.
That's right and surely useful! It would be perfect if I could know "how much" text is overflowing out from the story. Something like a third column in the palette, reporting the amount of overflowing characters. Or, even better, a semi-transparent box containing the "rest of the story"… Now I have to create and manually link a new text box to actually see the overflowed text. This is what I meant :-)

Every now and again I open a file created in v8 under Leopard, it freezes the program. CPU load goes crazy in Activity Monitor:

If I go into usage and click on a missing picture, I can then select the file and the image will either say 'ok' or 'modified'. Then the program hangs and I have to force quit.

Can somebody also think about making the window for the "Usage" for the images a bit bigger - the part where "More information" only displays 4 lines and sometimes my images require 5 or more lines and which means I have to scroll just to see all the information... maybe?

In total agreement with you. I've been requesting this since v3. Back then we fixed these things with ResEdit. Took all of two minutes.
