My client is trying to open a file created on my Mac Pro (OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard) on his Windows Vista system. Both of us have XPress 8, and he is getting the following error message -- This project in locked. Changes cannot be saved. [315]. I've searched the forums and have found this related to permissions on OS X, or maybe to different versions of Quark trying to open the same file, or working on a common file in a server environment. None of these scenarios describe my situation. I have the original authored file here and have sent a copy via FTP (in a zip archive) to my client's Windows PC. He cannot open the file and I'm at a loss as to how to help him fix this. Any help would be appreciated.... Thanks! Albee

Although your client is getting that message, is he able to actually open the file and view it on screen?

When I've occasionally had that message (usually a file copied from a CD), I've got round it by doing a "Save As", and gave the file a different name.

Is that of any help?

 Has your client tried right clicking the file, selecting properties and seeing if the file is checked as Read Only? If it is, unchecking that will probably fix it.
