At the bottom of the main forums page there are always the statistics. Why are they for the most part wrong?

For instance... In the past 3 days, the most popular thread for everyone has been "QuarkXPress 7.x – The "Killer" app!". The post with the most views is "Windows 7 support". The most replies were made to "7.5 crash after printing to ps in Snow Leopard". I know for a fact that "'The Killer' app" has not been active for the last three days! I made a new post to it and all of a sudden this is what gets reported.

Just curious as to why...

Matt, do we have any bottles we can use to catch these genies so Maggie and I can know what's going on here?

Actually Erik, I do not think these stats are calculated the way you expect them to be.

It appears that the Genie here only looks at the  "touched" thread in the last 3 days and not how often they wer "touched" within those 3 days.

I must admit though that this does mislead you somewhat.

But you know what tey say about stats or numbers... You can make them say anything.

Hey Michel. That's pretty much the same thing I figured. Which is daft I think. But then, as Matt can tell you, I'm not a fanboy of the forum layout.  Ah well.
