I am running Quark 8.1 and have found an issue with full resolution previews. When trying to set a large image to full res i get this error message: There is not enough memory available to set this preview to full resolution [10089]. I have created a new folder for my preview and increased preview memory to 2000mb. The same files work fine in quark 7, and I am using an 8 core 2.8ghz mac with 8 gb ram running leopard 10.5.8. Any ideas/help will be appreciated! John

I am having the same issue & no one has come up with an answer after a year & a half?!?!? Switch to InDesign!

The latest version of QuarkXPress 8 is 8.5.1 Update your software (it's free!) and try again. It is recommended to always update the softwares to the latest versions because they just fix bugs and issues and also may carry new features. HTH.

Hi, I have updated my version of quark every time an update is released. I still have the same issues with full res previews. I havent posted on here for a long time as no-one seems able to solve the issue. I have bought Quark 9 now but still use 8 so would appreciate it if anyone can solve this annoying problem! John

Can you determine what kind of picture leads to that issue? I suppose it doesn't occur every time with any picture, does it?

It can happen on any file format - tif,jpegs,eps,pdf. It does tend to happen on larger images but can also happen on any image over 10mb. I wish I could get it down to one format as it would help solve the issue

Is the picture located on a distant disk? (server, other partition, external drive?) Or is the XPress file you're on located on a distant disk?

No all pictures are held on the mac until archived off. All have been saved using relevant preview settings. I have tried saving in different formats or different preview settings, none of which helped
