I installed the demo version of quark 8.12 yesterday, and up until a few minutes ago, it allowed me to export my projects to .PDF format for adobe reader.

When I try to export to pdf, it acts as though it is going to do it all, after the uploading of the last page, it starts the 'creating pdf...' and then it just stops and an error pops up saying 'unable to create the "c:/...project.pdf" file

I set it to log error messages, and this is what I got:

so, how do it fix this, I didn't change anything other then the layout's graphics, and saved the new layout the same way I have before. So I am unsure on whats going on here. I might go to pagemaker if I cant get this issue taken care of soon, and forget about buying the license at the end of the demo period.

And PDF export? Second page is messed up. Actually I don't know why first page is ok, because in my 6 page version is messed up everything instead this first page.

All can be fixed by different transparent settings in PDF options, then is nothing messed up. BUT it will cause that error like in post before me. No PDF is created because 'unable to create the "c:/...project.pdf". This will happen on second page of my example.

It's sad, for so expesive software that he can't produce correct PDF file. Or can someone tell me how to export correct PDF file from my exmaple?

 

BTW: it's messed up even when I want to print it without exporting to PDF.

 I found solution. You need to find what objects causing that error. Then right click on them -> composition zones-> create. They will lost colors, pictures etc. Then export PDF with transparency option "export transparency natively" and PDF can be finally exported without errors and without graphic artefacts in final PDF.
