Linux or VM version of QLA is needed

I checked in to see if Quark is providing a Linux version of QLA.  So far, I did not find it.  If it exists, please post a link.

    Here is our problem...

To use QLA, we have to tie up an operating system license to use as a server.  Given how QLA will become a run-away process and hog the CPU, it is important that we keep it on a completely seperate box where it will not harm any other server apps.  This means we have to spend money on a seperate operating system license of Windows or Mac (not to mention if someone does not use virtual environments and have to dedicate a piece of hardware for it).

If Quark offered a Linux version of QLA, at least we would not have the extra added fee of an operating system in order to support our Quark users with QLA.  We could simply download a free version of Ubuntu or Fedora and install the QLA app without costing us anything extra for an operating system. Or an even better idea would be for Quark to offer a virtual machine that we could download and run in a virtual environment.  This would cut out the extra cost of an operating system license AND the extra hardware.

First, may I know which version of QLA you use. We have upgraded QLA to 4.5 and it should not over-utilize resources as mentiond in your post.

You may download the latest version of QLA from:

    http://www.quark.com/products/qla/downloads.html

QLA is not supportedon Linux. So it not be possible to help you set it up on that OS.

However you may also contact the technica support and they can help you troubleshoot QLA, if you are facing the issue on QLA 4.5.

    Hello,

Could you please make sure that you are using the latest version of QLA. You may download QLA 4.5 form the following link, it is a free update:

    http://www.quark.com/products/qla/downloads.html

QLA 4.5 should not be so resource instensive so as to ask for an independent system for itself. Please post more details if you are already using QLA 4.5.

As far as Linux is concerned, QLA does not support it.
