    Importing Multi-page PDFs

I need to import a multi-page PDF into Quark. Is there an automatic way to do that, or do I need to create a mutli-page Quark document with a picture box on the master page, and then individually import every page of the PDF into each of my Quark pages ... one at a time? I've been experimenting with Quark 8 and InDesign, and InDesign does it better, but I really need (and want) Quark to be able to do it!

Quark although better than it was working with PDF's is still not there all the way and not the application to use if PDF is your file type. It will flatten any imported transparent PDF and like your finding out no multipage import either. Remember Quark is still postscript based application unlike Adobe that runs on the PDF Engine and so was designed to work with PDF file format.

Just to rub even more salt in the wounds wasn't there a bug that when you re-open your completed quark file all the picture boxes would default to page 1 of the PDF.

I think that happens if you try to change the PDF and then update it in Quark. It means you have to go through the job again, re-importing each page in turn!

    Re: Importing Multi-page PDFs

That was a bug in Quark 4, and when I found it, I stopped using placed PDFs in Quark. Because I stopped placing PDFs, I'm not sure when they fixed that problem, but I just tried it in 8, and each page of the PDF updates correctly.
