    MICR font in Quark 6.0

I'm having some issues with the symbols in the MICR font in Quark. I have MICR in both Open Type and Post Script, neither one will display the symbols (the on-us, the dash, etc.). I'm using Suitcase for font management. I had been running Quark 4/Suitcase previously and never had a problem (I was using the Post Script version at the time). I have not tried installing them as system fonts as of yet and they are working in other applications like Illustrator and Photoshop (which doesn't really do me any good). Has anybody else run across this problem?

Have you tried cleanigf font caches. Sometimes XPress will get confused, particularly if you are using different types of the same font. Note too that QXP 6.x does not handle extended attributes of OpenType fonts.

FontNuke is a good cleaner, but any of your standard OSX maintenance tools will have this option (Coctail, Onyx, Main Menu, etc).

You can also try deleting the jaws folder (which is inside the QuarkXPress 6.0 application folder). It will recreate itself when you restart XPress.

Lastly, I might suggest an update to 6.52. 6.0 is pretty old, updates are free and there has been quite a few bug fixes since 6.0.
