Interactive novice - item doesn't appear

I'm having my first stab at an interactive layout, though an experienced used of XPress. I've created a simple looped animated movement sliding a box along a line when the user press a 'play now' object. This works fine in Flash preview. However when I've created a 'please stop' box with an action to stop the animation, it does work in Flash preview, but the graphic/text box doesn't appear on the screen (and can be activated only because I know where it is .. and the cursor changes shape). Any clue as to what fundamental principle I've missed?? Grateful for any pointer. Judith

    Hi, Judith,

how did you define the box that is not showing?

    Thanks

I've since upgroup the text box and graphic box, then regrouped them, defined it as type-basic and options-none. Even with no actions etc, shouldn't I expect to see the graphic when I preview in Flash? Thanks Judith

    Hi, Judith,

yes, unless you use the option to make an object "initially hidden" or "initially left" etc., define it as a window, put it on a mask layer or have it masked, it should just display.

The project you sent me via email works fine on my machine, so it seems to be machine-specific. Have you tried deleting preferences and/or font caches?

    Thanks
    Matthias
