    pdf style as default?

I've created a specific pdf output style for the bulk of my work. Is there any way to assign it as the default pdf style? I always get 'Captured Settings' as the default and have to select my settings every time.

    Thanks!

Once you create a PDF will any output style the Captured Settings are set to the same options as the style. So in effect the Captures Settings are same as  the style you used the last time, which most probably is the style that you use for bulk of your work.

Captured Settings will not change unless you change them manually. Even then, all you need is, select the output style once and Captures Settings will start defaulting to your style.

I hope this answers yor query though QuarkXPress does not allow a default output style.

I think I'm right in saying that if you save your quark file the 'captured settings' are saved with the file. The 'captured settings' do not apply to the next file. This behaviour is different to InDesign where Export to PDF default is relative to the Application and cant be saved with the file, but is picked up by the next file you choose to Export.

You are rigth about "Captured Settings", however to achieve defaults for "New Projects" you can edit the "Default PDF output Style". Any file that you create now on will have "Captured Settings" set to "Default PDF Settings" initially. If you do not make any changes, you get what you are trying to achieve.

    Does that work for you?
