Is there a way to delete the default output styles (*in q7)?

I only want my co-workers to be able to select our custom made styles. I never want them to accidentally pick one of the default ones. I also don't want the extra "noise". Has anyone figured a way to do this? I found a folder in Users/Library/Preferences/Quark/QuarkXPress 7.0 called Output Styles that contained several different files named: Style 1.OutputStyle.xml, Style 2.OutputStyle.xml, etc. but when I deleted them they were recreated when I relaunched QX. Anyone have a hack/scripting trick to remove this?

What happens if you lock permissions on the folder? I.e., no access for Owner, Group and Other? After you delete the files and before you restart XPress of course. You can do that with the JAWS folders so I'm thinking you could try that here.

You may open these .xml files in textEdit and change (Deletable="false") to (Deletable="true").

Save all the files after the changes.

Re-launch QuarkXPress and you will be able to delete these default styles.

Interesting... I was able to do as you say, edit the XML files, make them Deleteable="true", and it seemed to work from within QXP. But when I rebooted, they (all of the default print and PDF styles) were back again. Weirdly, the folder in my Prefs folder only had the four XML files I wanted to keep.

That's interesting, I did not notice that.

I think the default styles can not removed. I will add that to the wishlist.
