Everyone has probably been hit with an error when trying to import a PDF into QuarkXPress, something along the lines of the format not being recognized.
One of our operators realized the other day that she only got this error when she used the CMD+E shortcut. She found that if she chose Get Picture from the File menu and imported the same PDF file, it worked!
Give it a try next time you run into an error. No guarantees, but it might just work.
