Is there a way of inserting a table in Word or Exel into a table within Quark 6?

As long as the correct text goes into the correct cells then the re-sizing off the rows and columns can be done afterwards.

:idea: This is easy IF you have version 6.1 or even better 6.5 of Quark. If not, download and install the FREE updates to upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5.
If you do have 6.1 or 6.5, here's how you import a table from Excel:
1) Open your project.
2) On the page you want the table, using the Tables tool, draw a table (doesn't have to be exact).
3) The Tables Properties box will appear, click on the 'Link to external data' box, then click OK.
4) The 'Table Link' box should open.
5) The type will say 'Excel'
6) Click on the 'Browse' button next to the 'Name' tab.
7) Go find your table, and ensure you have the correct 'Range'.
8) Click OK.
9) It will now appear in Quark.
10) You can format the table easily in Quark with any fonts or colours you wish.

When you do this, since it links to external data, does the data update if you change the excel chart, or does it actually copy the data in and any changes in the excel you would have to re-link.

If you change the excel document after placing into Quark then you will have to replace the excel file, it does not update on the fly.

Thanks Marcus. That's what I figured. I do a lot of database work, and for me a linked table updates when the original table is changed. Just a difference in nomenclature.

Data update themselves among programs made by the same company, but here you're talking about data between 2 programs made by 2 different companies. :wink:
