How Do You Knock Out a Background

    Hello All,

I have a photo and a piece of line art. Each file is a hi-res color jpg that I wil convert in Photoshop 7 to black and white for print.

I need the background of each to have no color (no pixels?) so that I may add the color of my chosing in the Quark picture box or use a backgorund of none in the Quark picture box, without the background turning out to be white, unless I choose that color in the Quark picture box.

Can someone list step-by-step, the ways to handle these images in Quark and Photoshop? What is the easiest way?

I am using Quark 6.5 with Mac OS 10.3.2.

    Thank you.

Make a clipping path, it's in the Quark help or better yet Photoshop help menu.
