What are the differences between Quark and Quark Passport?

If I'm just using English, can I use Quark Passport as my primary Quark app? Are Passport docs. interchangable with Quark docs or do you need Passport to open an English doc in Quark?

    Thank you.

Yes, you can use Passport to work purely in English. The program just adds the option to work in multiple languages if you need.

And yes, you can save a file that a non-Passport user can open - you just have to make sure you save it as a single-language file.

Which is true for QuarkXPress 3, 4, 5 and 6.

From version 7 onwards the file format is the same, so the US and IE version of QuarkXPress can open files saved in QuarkXPress Passport.

Our company has offices in London and here in the States. We pass files back and forth every day.

We just upgraded from Quark 6.5 to 7.2 and acquired a vast amount of problems along with lots of other issues like printing.

Should we (all users) US and London move to quark passport. Would that help us to operate more smoothly together.

    Thanks

Are there any known issues when converting Mac version of Quark from standard 6.5 to 6.5 Passport?

I never saw anything go amiss opening standard 6 files in Passport6.1

I never upgraded my Passport install to 6.5, but that was down to other issues.

No, I have been running 6.5 passport since it was released and have not had any issues opening vanilla quark
