    Just wondering how to format a text box so the text runs vertically from top to bottom.

    Cant you just rotate the text box -90° ?

    …like you can do in Illustrator. I don't think Quark can do that, but there might be an XTension that will do it in Quark.

    That's why I asked...
    You may want to put the text centered in a box so tight that the text will be forced to run from top to bottom.

    That was actually my first guess, but I couldn't come up with a way to describe it.

    Since pages of body copy would be absolutely unreadable that way, I suspect the easiest way is just to hit a return or soft return after each character. I've tried the narrow text box thing, too, but you usually end up with a lot i's and l's or m's and w's that mess up the "automatic" formatting, so you may as well do it manually.
