If you own QuarkXPress 7 or 8, no need to buy a new version, as the license you own works on both platforms.

To export for the web (if you onyl need text): File > Save Text and choose HTML.

If you need more (geometry, pictures), convert to web layout first (Layout > Layout Properties and under Layout Type: Web) and then export as HTML: File > Export > HTML.

Ask for a faster Mac; I can't see them buying Quark for PC just for one employee.

Thanks for the replys. I just need the wrtings so fonts will not be a problem lol. All i have to do tell someone here to buy Quark for PC. i hope i can start actual working in few days.

The fonts might be a problem if you needed to keep the materials in Quark, but you don't; they're going to the web, where they'll most likely end up as default web fonts. So even if all the fonts default when you use Quark on the PC to open the Mac Quark file, you can still "select all" to grab all the text, then paste it into Dreamweaver (or whatever web application).

So I would think all you need is to have Quark on the PC.

What you probably WILL have trouble with is losing all your text formatting when getting text from Quark to the web. Someone may have an idea of a good workflow for this.

You should be able to open any Quark file on your PC - or Mac.

There might be the odd problem with a font, but you can always substitute the PC version if it matters which font is used on the web page.

As for the Mac being slow - well, tell them it slows you down and you would like a faster Mac.

Hello, first of all i searched the forums and net for more information but i could'nt find anything helps me.I'm started to work for a publishing company. This company has a few magazines on photgraphy, computer and so. My task is take the words and pictures from QuarkXPress files and than enter to that information to web portal(so i need wrtings and pictures). There are lots of article, news and stuff. First of all they gave me an old mac that is annoyingly slow. And i'm a pc kind of guy. So i dont want to loose time with MAC. But all the designers work on Mac QuarkXPress. How can i open QuarkXPress files on PC for take the writings. Pictures are also Tiff and i know how to convert them. But people here keeps saying me that the "you cant do this becouse of the fonts". Working on mac first, than pc will double my working times and probably make me sick becouse of the slow mac.
