Now I'm writing document Y. The annoying behaviour is as follows: EVERY TIME I save document Y, Quark has to reopen document X (or bring it to the front if it's already open). When I save Y, Quark also complains that document X has unavailable fonts, even though Y doesn't use these fonts.

I'm one of those paranoid users who saves a document every two minutes or so. This behaviour is driving me crazy: I keep seeing document X popping up every time I save. What is going on? Why are these documents so mysteriously linked?

I should add that I tried wiping document X from my system: now I get a File not found error message every time I save Y. I've also ripped out the Quark preferences. And this is a recent thing: I've been using Quark on this machine for years without this problem.

Thanks for any help,

Zoe
