Print Selection XT Now Available for QuarkXPress 8.1!

I'm happy to announce that we just posted the Print Selection XT for QuarkXPress 8.1 to the Quark Labs website. This free XTension for QuarkXPress 8.1 allows you to print, EPS, or PDF just a portion of a page rather than the whole thing. This XTension was previously known as the XPert Print component of XPert Tools. Head over to Quark Labs and check it out!

XPert Tools Pro fails to load in second User Account

XPert Tools Pro Xtensions all fail to load in second Mac User Account:
Mac OS X 10.4.11, Quark 7.31 XTP 2.2

Everything works fine in 1st User account. In second User Account, everything works except that an XTension loading Error is generated for all XTP XTensions. No XTP Preference files are created in the USER/Library/Preferences/Quark 7.0 folder in second User Account.

Any suggestions appreciated. (Quark Tech support failed to help w/1st call in).

Item style; Item style 1; Item style 2

Start out with just three styles: Picture frame; Figure frame; Caption frame

After a while I notice there are many in the palette:

Picture frame; Picture frame 1; Picture frame 2; Picture frame 3; Figure frame; Figure frame 1; ... etc.

Touch an item which is governed by one of the new item styles. Name in palette shows bold, and red.

(Bold meaning implemented; Red meaning different, right?)

and examine why: in the spec of the style a wrong colors for the frame color.

This behavior for the several Item styles I have in the document.

Frustrated, I fix the Item style definitions and delete all Item styles to prevent it happening again.

(replace with no style)

This happened with 8 files saved independently with same project specs. Has now occured on a second book also.

Some copy and pasting in the document. But Item Styles not edited. These things just showed up. Why?

This isn't a feature I have failed to appreciate, is it?

Hi,

Is there a new version of Xpert Tools pro available for the new QuarkXpress 8.0? I know some of the XTensions have been included in Quark 8.0, but what about the others? Such as Xpert print, nudge, Fit Text and etc.

Xpert TOols and Badia Xtension

Seem there is a conflict with some Badia tools I have in my xtension folder - Quark 7 quits when I call for a task from most of the xPert tools --- is there any know conflict that is known - so that I can remove one or the other --- Bill

Xpert Scale Problems?

Is anyone else having problems with Xpert Scale and Quark 7.3 Mac?

My Quark crashes whenever I try to scale a group of items either by putting an a percentage or unit width. I have relied heavily on this extension for so many years i can't count, any idea what is wrong?

I have reduced my extensions down to the bare minimum.

Can I buy Xpert Scale for Quark 6.5 (Windows)?

XPert styles prefs not saving correctly (Q7.31)

I've found that the XPert style do not save correctly when a document is open, unless used in that open document, and then the document saved. If you create a series of styles with a document open, but not use them in that open document, Quark kindly erases them for you. Just thought I'd share this for others with the same frustrating problem.

i need my serial number for InBooklet 3.0, as i have had to reload software after replacing a hard drive and cannot locate my serial number.

now i find out quark has bought out A Lowly Apprentice Productions, so i guess that means that all the Adobe InDesign plug-ins will disappear....

so how do i go about getting my serial number for my InDesign InBooklet 3.0 plug-in???

Four XTensions imcompatible with Intel QXP7?

Vic,

XPert Tools 2.2 is Universal Binary and fully compatible with Intel Macs. I wonder if your problem could be preferences related. Have you tried removing any files in your preferences folder that begin with "XPert"? Your preferences are probably stored in Home/Library/Preferences/Quark/. Take the XPert ones out, relaunch, and let me know if that resolved the problem.

Xpert Print

In quark 6.1 I could use this tool to print from off the pasteboard or just a section of it. This doesn't seem to be the case in 7.2 where nothing off the pasteboard is picked up, and a section will appear as a section but on the whole pasteboard. Am I doing something wrong of does xpert print just not work properly with 7.2 yet. Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

I'm trying to print a specific zone of a page but it doesn't work as I thought it would.
What I want to print is the front cover of book. The Quark document is wider since it is the back cover + the front cover. So I select the front cover zone then fine tune in the dialog box and press the Print button. Then comes the normal Print dialog box. I set it up to A4 and it outputs the entire document centered on the page (the front cover visible but outcentered and the back cover invisible).
What I want is the front cover alone centered on the A4 page at the output.
Is it but possible? And if yes so how can I do it?
(It works OK as an eps file, but that's not what I want.)

Quark XPert Tools Pro does not work with the Russian in 7.3

I welcome colleagues and employees of company Quark.
I the user of the program in Russia. In version 7.3 there was a support of Russian. Thanks - we for a long time waited for it.
But at switching in the Russian interface there is a problem: expansions Quark XPert Tools Pro do not work. :( Why so occurs? When the mistake will be corrected?

XPert ToolBars crashes on Mac Pro

Is there any problem with this XTension of the XPert Tools Pro? One of our customers has an Mac Pro with Mac OS X 10.4.10 and XPress 7.2 bundled with the XPert Tools Pro. If the XTension "XPert ToolBars" (v2.2) is in the XTensions Folder, Quark crashes on opening.

xpert print export eps

following problem: we want to export eps-files from selected items in qxd with expert print. but the exports without cropmarks failed because some parts (lower right corner) are cropped.

some sugestions? qxd 7.2, mac 10.4.10, latest version xpert print.

quark pages help

A friend of mine gave me several Quark Files with facings pages all being master pages... All of them are separate files need to be in one document. Is there a way not to have master page A, then B, then C... etc after each separate document's pages are imported to the one document. i feel like it won't print right if there all a million different master pages.. please help.

Xpert Character Styles

Referring back to when the Xtensions were ALAP and in 4.1 I remember that it was possible to assign a character level style that only affected, say for example, the point size of a font, or the colour, without changing any other attributes.

That doesn't seem to be possible now in v7, or am I missing something?
