One annoying way would be to type it in, then track it back. That is, type the "c", then the "ˇ" (shift-option-t for this), then put the cursor between the 2 characters and use the measurement palette (or the key combination shift-option-[) to adjust the spacing between the characters. But this character should be available in ...

Check the settings for Color and Gray Tiffs under Preferences/Application/Display. High numbers here mean larger files, I think, as well as sharper display on-screen.

I think these are files that are marked up with XPress tags. You can read about XPress tags in the Quark help documents. It's a very handy mark-up code that allows text documents to contain styling information that Quark understands. The easiest way to create xtg files is to choose "Save text" from within Quark, and choose XPress ...

Make sure that guides are showing. Select the table with the content tool. Hover the cursor over an edge, and shift it around until it changes to a double arrow. With this cursor icon showing, click on the edge. Sometimes this selects the edge, and sometimes it's necessary to try again while holding down the shift key. I look for a change in ...

This can be done with a single-cell table. The border grids can be selected and modified individually. I don't think one side of a regular box can be modified separately.
