I would not be concerned about those .xic files. They were generated during the flattening stage of export to PDF. Normally they are cleaned up, but the crash prevented that.  Just wondered if anyone used this setting when making Photoshop TIFF files.  This is a nice cross-platform way of providing a smaller dpi preview of monster TIFF files, and would save a lot of time and bandwidth if you were browsing lots of TIFF images, especially on a network drive.  XPress does not currently use it, but Quark ...

 I would like to believe that any perceived drop in traffic is down to a drop in *negative* traffic. We have been listing to our customers, and addressing issues regularly in the current release, long enough that crash fixers like me are going the way of Bryllcreem salesmen.

 Looks like you are on Tiger. Tiger has a problem with font caches corrupting, which looks like the problem here. Apple fixed this in Leopard.  You can zap the font cache by using Font Finagler or by 1: shutting ALL applications, 2: going to /Library/Caches/ and moving to trash the folder "com.apple.ATS" 3: ...

If it were possible to send that document + resources (fonts & pics) to Tech Support together with a timing and details of your set up, they could have a chance to verify and log this as a performance issue.
