The feature is there. It just doesn't seem to work. I am wondering if anybody else has had this experience and whether this is a known bug. I am confused, though. As a moderator of/contributor to this forum, do you not have the most up-to-date software?

Yes, as part of my preflighting process, I go through the document to make sure that there are no extra spaces preceding and following quotation marks, as well as checking that nothing has been copied and pasted from emails, etc, with the wrong types of apostrophes and quotation marks. I can't turn off my Smart Quotes. Even when this option is turned off in the preferences, Quark still treats all quotes as the same (i.e. doesn't differentiate between open quotes, close quotes, curly quotes or straight quotes).Is this a documented bug?
