To be honest, rather than download each update (which you shouldn't really need to do) I think it's easier to simply get the 7.31 evaluation version then activate it as a full version. Because the eval copy isn't knobbled in anyway apart from the time limit validating it as a full copy will do the job nicely and mean only one download. ...

I wonder if the OP means the content of the layer - in which case surely using a master page is the answer.
Set up the data you want on a layer on the relevant master page, job done. If you want this data to appear on some pages and not others you'll need to have different masters - one with the data and others without.

We use Q2ID (the Markzware utility) all the time we need to open old Quark stuff as we no longer use XPress and it's fine. It'll mess up some stuff - particularly text formatting and, sometimes, images but generally it's useable. The ID user needs to have it, not you (the Quark user). Once installed you open ID then do a file/open on ...

I note you've got a workaround, but I wondered could the camera, when anchored, have text runaround on it? Or maybe different leading or space after/before? My thought is to try to make it work with an anchored image as that's a lot easier to deal with than having to move lots of little images just because a line has been added ...

6.52 will work, after a fashion, in OS 10.5 but you're right, it's not entirely compatible. 7.31 is and yes, it costs to upgrade, have a look at the Quarkstore link from the Products menu at the top of this page.
There are lots of places you can buy fonts online - I favour faces.co.uk - but do a Google search for font providers and ...

You should also be aware, though you may already know this, that whilst 6.52 fixes a lot of problems with v6 it is not compatible with OS 10.5. You will experience other problems, sorry.
Only v7.31 is OS 10.5 ready. I'd recommend downgrading the OS if you can't upgrade Quark.
Good luck,

That'd be nice - freebie! Sorry mate, it's a complicated thing to repurpose a later version to an earlier version hence so few (well one) utility being available to do it, and that carrying a fee (quite a reasonable one though, I think).
Good luck.

Tried deleting the preferences?
If that doesn't work you could try moving all Xtensions to the disabled folder then having another go - if that works then it's possibly a corrupt/incompatible Xtension.
Lastly I've had occasions when a specific font causes an instant crash. The solution there is to clear out the font ...

No version of Quark will save back more than one version - changing the extension (though they aren't different between 6 and 3) wont make a blind bit of difference.
Only thought if you don't have access to the intermediate versions is to get Markzware's utility - can't remember what it's called - that lets you ...

Erm, doesn't this link http://forums.quark.com/t/16742.aspx show how this can be done?
Can't test it myself - wouldn't dream of doing web stuff in Quark!
Good luck,
Greg
