I think that happens if you try to change the PDF and then update it in Quark. It means you have to go through the job again, re-importing each page in turn!

I need to import a multi-page PDF into Quark. Is there an automatic way to do that, or do I need to create a mutli-page Quark document with a picture box on the master page, and then individually import every page of the PDF into each of my Quark pages ... one at a time? I've been experimenting with Quark 8 and InDesign, and InDesign does it ...

Most of the time I really don't need a log file every time I export to PDF from Quark 8.1 on my iMac. Is there a way to switch them off?

It could be just the tip of the iceberg!

Hopefully the sample below will illustrate the problem, but from a top-notch software company it should not be ...

InDesign is no better than Quark 8. I HAVE to work in ID as one of my clients requires his files in it, but it hangs and crashes for little reason, and struggles with font activation, etc., etc. It has a few features which work better than Quark's (eg Tables), but as a Quarkie I just love to get back to the familiar and straightforward ...

When we import Word or ASCII files into QuarkXPress a whole array of conversion values (held within each filter) is applied, and the list - if we were able to see it - would be very long and confusing, and Quark would be foolish to give us the ability to make choices within any of the import filters. Whether it's possible for software ...
