Export PDF errors - Could not find the XObject named 'Fm3'.

Had raw files supplied from client including a press PDF which displays the following error message when opened in Acrobat 8.0 :

" Could not find the XObject named 'Fm3'. "

Exporting from Quark 6.52 to PS then distilling myself ALSO created the same errors - also some images had dropped off the page in both instances.

Running OSX 10.4.10 on Dual 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 MAC with 1.25MB RAM.

Can anyone please tell me WHY?????

    Very much appreciated,

    Gillie :)

    Hi Oberon,

the PDF file is simply corrupt. If I understand you correctly you tried to place this corrupt PDF file in a QuarkXPress page layout and created a new PDF from the whole page. Of course the result can't be error free (QuarkXPress can't heal corupt PDF files).
Request a new PDF from your client created with a professional PDF creation tool (if not used already).
