    Quark will not launch.

I have used Quark 7.2 on our G5 Mac running osx 4.9. But today it will not launch the application. A couple of seconds into opening Quark, an error message opens and says Quark can not launch because one of the software components is damage or missing. More info button shows that "Color Manager.qrc" from the "Required Components" folder has a "Load Error". Can Quark suppy us with just that little tiny file to replace or do we have to reinstall the entire application? If anybody knows where and how I can replace this file please Helllp!!!!

    Quark will not launch.

Hi, I had the same problem. I did a little digging around. In your Quark folder that is in your application folder there is another folder called "For System". Inside that folder is an installer app. I ran the app and then ran Quark again. It fixed it.

I hope it works for you as well.

I am having this same problem on a Mac OS X. I deleted the preferences and reinstalled the components but that did not solve it. Has anyone else had htis problem and found a solution? Help!

I have the same problem in 1 PowerMac G4, 1 PowerMac G5 and 2 MacPro (I've installed quark totally in 10 different machines). I've noticed that the problem occured after installing ScanWizard Pro v7.523 (microtek's drivers & software) at these machines. Is this could be the problem?
I've trashed the folder and reinstall it.

    Quark will not launch.

I solved the my problem by deleting these files:
    - KodakCMS.framework in the boot drive Library/Frameworks folder
    - LogoSync.framework in the boot drive Library/Frameworks folder
    - Xerces-c-xc.framework in the boot drive Library/Frameworks folder
    - Xalan-c-xc.framework in the boot drive Library/Frameworks folder
Then run QuarkXPress Components in the For System folder.

    Quark will not launch.

This problem just happened to me today. Quark 7.3.1 was working fine the other day. This morning I installed Scanmaker 7.5.6. After that, Quark failed to launch with the error pertaining to the color manager file.

I tried deleting frameworks as suggested in this thread, but I was not able to run the Quark component installer - it gave me a different error. So I tried plan B. I was able to get a hold of fresh copies of the frameworks from another computer. Ultimately, I narrowed the culprit down to the KodakCMS framework.

My theory is that the scanner installer software overwrote this framework with an older/less compatible version. Once I put the "fresh" version back in, Quark was good to go once again. The scanner still works so I'm good on all fronts. Not sure why an application would be rendered unusable by one framework's failure, but at least I now know how to fix this in the future. Thanks to everyone who posted above.

I'm in the boat with you too Ted. I've been waiting for a Quark operator now for over 5 hours, so they must be pretty busy.
