    Color Configuration Options Warning PopUp

Since I reinstall my XPress 7.2, I have this PopUp Warning Dialog on opening doc:

    Color Configuration Options
This project use custom color configurations that could affect the display and output of the Layouts. Including these color configurations in th Project's Job Ticket would ensure display and output consistency.

How do you want to proceed?
Include custom color configurations in the Project's Job Ticket.
Replace custom configurations with default color settings.

On three other Macs this doc open without a notice. I did check the preferences pane and see no differences.

    Maybe someone have an explanation...

    Hello,

The most likely cause for this warning is that the project—or better, it’s job ticket—contains an output setup that is not present on your computer.

You need to check the other QuarkXPress copies at Edit > Color Setups... > Output... for the customer setup that should be listed there. You can export it, put it on the network or a USB stick, and transfer it to your copy of QuarkXPress via Output Setup import.

Let me know if this worked.

Hi Thomas, thank you for the reply,

Unfortunately its too late for asking our customer for the output set up. We did the print out with «Replace custom color configurations with default color settings» and everything is fine.

I just wonder now where in the manual I could find more relevant info about this? I did check intensively for this warning in the color management section with no avail.

Am I right to say that if I print with «As is» set up, choosing «replace» or «include» will lead to the same condition?

    Hi, rcantin,
The other Thomas is correct. This message would be displayed when a project is saved with a custom color output setup and that is not avaiable in the copy of QuarkXPress that opened the project.
Because color output setups can be included in a Job Jacket and automatically selected for projects that reference that Job Jacket, we are able to include the output setup in the jacket to preserve it. It would, however, have a default name.
This would only be an issue if you needed to reference that color output setup when outputting the file, which doesn't seem to be the case. It would not affect any of the default color setups such as AsIs.
There's not specific documentation about this error dialog, but the best place to check would be the section of Job Jackets, particularly as it relates to color management, as information about Sharing source and output setups.
    Hope this helps,

    Hi Thomas II,

I did not read the Job Jacket section yet. Thank you for the input. I will have a close look on that section asap.
