Will Quark8 have the "Save as single language"-opt

I really hope that Quark 8 will be able to save documents as "single language" again. Maybe it's not the case in US, but here in Europe we work with documents in different languages, and it takes a lot of time to change all the hypenation paragraph by paragraph or for every style sheet separately.

I do not know why someone would want to save a multi-language document into a single language one know that text will reflow...

That said, here a quote form this page, look like this is something you would want...
    Quark:
    Global Publishing
With QuarkXPress 8, one global file format supports advanced eastern and western typography for more than 30 languages. All editions of QuarkXPress 8 share the same dictionaries, include hyphenation functionality, and support the import, formatting, and output of East Asian text. American and European users can switch the language of their user interface to fit their needs and all users can open and print a file created in any edition of QuarkXPress 8 without experiencing reflow.

    Hope this helps!

It will not save as "single language" as that wouldn't make sense. QuarkXPress 8 has a single, global file format, able of containing all languages worldwide.

Not only because I am European too, I totally agree. And I am sure Americans can use that too.

QuarkXPress 8 has a much easier way of converting text. You either pick a specific language or all languages and convert the whole project with one click.

I don't think you understood the way we want to use the single language option.
We make books and magazines not multi-language but in different languages each. So we start with a document, let's say in french or english and then make a copy where we will replace the text by german or spanish or dutch or italian text and so on. To have the right hyphenation in that new document, we have to select all the style sheets one by one to change the language, otherwise the hyphenation stays in the language from the original document. That's why we need to save it as single language.

But with the explanation from Matthias I'm very happy, it says that we can convert the hyphenation of a whole document, included style sheets to a single language, that's exactly what we need. Really looking forward to Quark 8.

We've been able to do this since v4.x

Of course we were. I was able to do it in 3, 4, 5, 6, but not in 7.

That language list does not offer Irish, which makes life pretty difficult for an Irish typesetter.

Hi Matthias, This is great news. I didn't see it, but found now the "convert languages" option in 7.5. Thank you. I'm now working with both 7.5 and the demo-version of 8.0, but will soon make the upgrade to 8.0 for all our jobs.
