    Testing Xtensions

Can I safely install these Xtensions, use them when I work on my projects, remove these Xtensions and still be able to open my projects and continue working on them without these Xtensions installed?

I am asking this because I know there have been examples, people testing Xtensions, decided not to have them installed or not wanted to buy them only to find out that these projects no longer are accessible or non-editable without the Xtension they testedÂ…

Nice to know before I start using any of these on some customer files.

I'll think you'll find the days of Xtensions embedding themselves, like Pasteboard XT, did are long gone.

Obvious test would be to load the Xtension, make a file, unload the Xtension and try to reopen the same file. You could do all this on the same machine, no need to send the files out. I reckon it'd be fine.

Only obvious potential problem is if the Xtension does something really clever - say a better drop shadow - which may be lost without said Xtension, the file will probably still open but the effect will be gone.

Yes, I agree with you :)
But - sometimes you find out that you should have asked in beforehand before you do it and then ask after you have tried it - only to be told that you should have asked before you tried itÂ…

I hear you mate - brings back memories of the disaster that Pasteboard XT caused when I worked in repro years back!

    Good luck,
