    Centering a web page

I tried centering the page following the earlier post but am still unable to make it work. Can this be done after the site has been built? Thanks for any help.

    Re: Centering a web page

..... The short answer is No (because of the way it writes the code when it exports - elements are relative to the page)

I've spent many hours trying..... if you desperately need centred pages you can build and export in Quark then rebuild your pages using another programme - you will have all the elements in your images folder so it still can save you time & if you are a quark fan like me it is a very comfortable programme to design in.

Erm, doesn't this link http://forums.quark.com/t/16742.aspx show how this can be done?

Can't test it myself - wouldn't dream of doing web stuff in Quark!

    Good luck,

Actually you are right and I think wrong.... it sort of works but on a page with any complexity it always seems to leave some elements behind - any suggestions? I'D LOVE TO BE PROVED TOTALLY WRONG on this one!!!

    Re: Centering a web page

     Hi

We use 6.5 at work so I downloaded the demo 7 version and tried the above out. It does work, but you need to make certain that nothing 'touches or overlaps' the floating boxes on the either side. I made 2 boxes left and right that were 1pixel wide on the Master Page and locked them.

If any of my other page elements touched or overlapped the two locked side boxes then that particular element would go awry and move all over the place. But it seemed to work ok other than that.

Wonder if 8 has the page centre ability...
