You've done all that. But have you ever trashed XPress 7.x's preferences? Sometimes the prefs don't always survive system updates intact. Your prefs file is located here: Macintosh HD>Users>~username>Library>Preferences>Quark>Quark 7>XPress Prefernces.prf
If that doesn't work, then alternatively you can create a Preferences folder inside your XPress 7.x application folder. This will generate a new prefs file on launch and your prefs will now be located there. Sometimes this solves things that deleting the prefs file in the other location won't.
You might also try re-running the components installer. Inside your XPress 7.x application folder will be another folder called For System. Inside there is a file called QuarkXPress Components. Run that file and it will reinstall all the necessary XPress 7.x system files.
Good luck.
