Hi, nfgfaniam,
Please remember that QuarkXPress 3.x for Windows was developed in the early 90's for Microsoft's Windows 3.x series. That means it is a 16-Bit application and e.g. has no support for extended filenames (needs 8.3 type filenames).
If your complete environment is still 90's, then QuarkXPress 3.32 should run fine under Windows 95 and Windows 98 (though 1997 QuarkXPress 4 hit the market). I am sure there were known issues with the later versions of Windows, especially Windows NT. You will need to test and run this at your own risk. Also Quark will not support this anymore. You might want to search the tech support database, a lot of the old articles are still online: http://www.quark.com/service/desktop/support/techinfo/
Please make sure that your environment is also 90's, like fonts, printer drivers, picture types etc. If you can ensure this, then there's no reason why this shouldn't run as well as it did in the 90's.
As I see this as a time-consuming task (for PDF creation you probably need Acrobat 5), unless a hobby it might be easier (and therefore cheaper) to upgrade to a newer version of QuarkXPress, which runs under Vista (so 7 or 8). Beside that bezier paths, character style sheets (bot introduced in v4), layers (v5), PSD support (v6), shadows/transparencies (v7) and multiple baseline grids (v8) might come in handy.
Best
Matthias
