    Hyphens in Word

When I'm exporting text from Quark 7.31 in Word format (Mac Office 2008), all the hyphens are included when I open Word. It's the same thing if I copy the text from Quark and paste it in Word. I didn't have this problem with earlier versions of Quark and Word.

Hi. I believe you were talking about discretionary hyphens. The behaviour of XPress 7 is correct. On copying a word having discretionary hyphen from XPess to Word, the hyphen is retained, though its display in Word may look like a normal hyphen (which is some internal behvaiour of Word). On copying the same text back from Word to XPress again, the discretionary hyphen gets retained and renders properly.

In XPress 6, the discretionary hyphen may have got omitted while copy from XPress to Word since XPress6 wasn't Unicode compliant.
