How to make a PDF/x-1a with a duotone photo?

How to make a PDF/x-1a with a duotone photo?

i want to export as a PDF/x-1a WITH an output intent but i get "LAB" errors in Adobe Distiller

i export as PS from Quark 7 and make a PDF/x1a in Distiller.

The same photo makes a good PDF in Indesign (with Output Intent)

i can make a PDF from Quark but there is no Intent.

I have tried the option i found to switch the duotone in Photoshop to a multi-channel image.

if i import this in Quark and then make a PDF/x1a it works perfect. I get an Output Intent included and i have the right PDF.

But i don't want to change my images in Photoshop, i want to keep my duotone curves.

Why does it work in Indesign and not in Quarkxpress ??

Do i have to change te settings ??

Anyone have the same problems ??

That makes no differents, still the same error in Distiller.

     LAB color found, no PDF/x1a

Lab color found means that somewhere in your document a picture with Lab definition offending the PDFX/1A standard. Since you cannot print in LAB convert this picture to CMYK...
