    Stylesheets not activating properly

Hi, can anyone help with the following? My stylesheets are not activating properly: they still have the correct fonts in them, but in my document the fonts are defaulting randomly - sometimes to Helvetica and other times to former styles that were applied in the document. I'm using QuarkXpress 6.52 on Mac OS 10.4.11 and Suitcase Fusion. This is happening in my main file and my backup file. I've done a safe boot to clear the font caches but it hasn't helped.

It may help to remove, then re-install the font set in Suitcase. The program FontNuke has an option for resetting Suitcase; this is also worth a try, but BE CAREFUL: If you let Suitcase copy fonts to the vault, these will be deleted (I think). If they are your only copies, they may well be gone gone gone. If you try the FontNuke option, I think it removes all sets from Suitcase, and they'll have to be reinstalled. There is also a suitcace plist, called com.extensis.SuitcaseFusion.plist; you could try moving this to the desktop (with Suitcase turned off); start Suitcase, and it will make a new plist, and if this helps, fine. If not, you'll have your old plist to put back in its place, if you wish.

Hi, thanks so much for your reply. I have actually now found a backup file, from before I changed the filename, that seems to be okay. Have you had experience of problems caused by changing a filename in the finder window rather than using 'save as'? (the problem didn't manifest immediately though - which is puzzling, but all the backups with the new name, including one on a separate hard drive are affected). I'll keep Fontnuke and plist in mind - I didn't know about plists, so thank you very much for this suggestion.
