Now I've seen it all... Excel content

A customer has just supplied images ... pasted into an Excel file. With captions (in random columns). The file is 220mb which my Excel made very heavy weather of.

I mean ... what? Pasting into Word is understandable if annoying, and as these are only low res it would have done. But Excel???

Just needed to share this weirdness.

Emma, I truely understand your concern. And please remember: you do not want to import that 220mb Excel file into a QuarkXPress table...

One good thing is "the images are IN there". Select each, one at a time, and copy/paste into blank photoshop document. Copy to pasteboard first from excel, and then file new from photoshop. That should get you the right size ps document based on what is on clipboard.

I love the way "folks" treat images now-a-days. So much for "digital originals", or "negatives", eh?

Quicker way would be to save (print) the Excel document as PDF and do a "Advanced -> Document Processing -> Export All Images..." in Acrobat.

Didn't know about the extract images - I just copied and pasted into Photoshop. I only got landed with the job because few of us are allowed a copy of Excel and even fewer know what it's for!

If they ever have the cheek to do it again, I'll try that Michel!
