Quark 7 will not open.

    Quark 7 will not open.

    Had a melt down on my iMAC when I downloaded the security update from Apple. Had to reload my system and start over. I did check the box to keep all my pass words and preferences for all other software. Now my quark 7.x will not open. I've checked the preferences folder in the system library, but nothing is in it.  I also noticed that any of the items in my Quark application folder are now unix files. Any ideas.

    Your preferences file is not located in the System/Library. Find it here: Macintosh HD>Users~username>Library>Preferences>Quark>Quark 7.0>XPress Preferences.prf. Delete the file, then open your Quark XPress folder in the Applications folder. Find the folder named For System. Open that folder and then run the file name System Components. This will reinstall all the frameworks and system internals for XPress. Once it's done, then try opening XPress.
