    We have been using QuarkXPress 5 for some time now but a new issue has just come up.  No money to upgrade.  When we draw a picture box and get a PDF of an ad and place it in the picture box it looks good. But when we print it, character are drop. If we print the PDF directly from Acrobat it prints ok. This is only happing on the PC. The Mac version will print it correctly.

     PDF import on versions 4 to 6 is unreliable and undependable. Save out an EPS file from Acrobat (with preview) and import the EPS file, not the PDF.
