I'd like to see a version 8 compatible Quark Print Collection developed - specifically Imposer.
Our business relies on Imposer; it's a reasonably-priced piece of software that does simple impositions very well, works entirely in the print stream, and fits nicely in our workflow. We don't want imposition software that physically rearranges pages, and standalone imposition software (INposition, for example) is just overkill for our modest needs (and far too expensive for what we need).
We don't want to add another step in our workflow to accommodate the absence of this software. Having to save a document as version 7 to impose it in a specific copy of version 7 defeats the object of upgrading to version 8; and saving pages as PDFs and imposing them in Acrobat complicates things - especially when we can send imposed pages to our platemaker straight from Quark at the moment.
We were looking to upgrade to version 8, but without Imposer, we will be forever stuck with version 7.
A great shame.
Is there any chance of porting the old ALAP xtensions to version 8? (ShadowCaster?) Is this something that Quark Labs can have a go at? Please?
