Create single page pdf’s with bleed from Quark spreads

Hi – I don’t think this can be done, but does anyone know if I can create single page pdf’s with bleed from a document that has been set-up as a spread? I think my only option will be to create the files as single pages in the first place – this is for a 1000+ page job so it is critical that I start it the right way.

    Thanks for your help.

You get the bleed from the opposite page on your single pages, sometimes this is ok. How is the job being bound?

The job will be perfect bound I think – it was always created in single pages previously which wasn’t a problem, but now they want to see it proofed as spreads, but the printer requires single page pdf’s!

     Perfect bound.

At the spine all the bleed will be ground off, additionally the glue will prevent you opening the pages completely flat so even if the folding is out by a millimeter or 2 you'll never see it.

I'd set the document up as spreads. The printer won't mind if the bleed for the single pages comes from the opposite page.

The only binding I can think of that truly needs bleed in the spine is ring binding.
