    QuarkXPress 8.2.3 ???

I have seen a few copies of " QuarkXPress 8.2.3 " offered for sale lately on Craigslist & on software re-sellers on the internet.

Is this just a typo ??

Yeah... That is what I thought, too, but then I Googled QuarkXPress 8.2.3 and got a whole page of hits, which I found peculiar !

Sometimes I get behind on these updater things.

I did receive a message about the updates but my internet connection is not very good, a sad combination of geography and politics, and downloading a 750-meg file is often problematic.

I wrote an email off to Quark Customer Service a couple of months ago at the beginning of August to ask them to send me a copy of the QXP 8.1 Updater (which they said would be ready by the end of September but is still apparently not available) and today I sent a request for the QXP 8.12 Updater, (which should be available early in December).

When I had QXP7 Quark was pretty good about sending me updater disks.

Quark offering an updater almost a gigabyte in size is easy enough to do if they assume that everyone interested in getting it has high-speed DSL access but up here in Canada high-speed access is not available outside urban centers and there are still a lot of people on dial-up who are paying by the hour for internet access and then paying extra per gigabyte for anything over a set limit. On top of that, the monopoly that controls the telephone system in Canada routinely throttles internet access to slow down uploads & downloads.
