XPress 6.10 - Project Damaged and cannot be fixed. :(

I am working on an 80 page booklet in Quark Xpress 6.10 and it is a file that has been in existence for a couple of years, I always make revisions to it and save as a new name and continue on happily. I have put in about 10 hours of work on this latest version and everything seemed to be working well, and today when I went to open it I got this message:

"This project has been damaged and cannot be fixed. Try dragging pages into a new project to recover them." What the heck? Any ideas on what could have caused this? And how do I drag 80 pages into another project? :(

Documents that have been around for awhile have the potential to become corrupt over time. This is probably what happened here.

What you want to do is create a new document at the same size as the old one and then do what is called a Thumbnail Drag. You place the new document and the old in Thumbnail view, then select the pages you want to drag in to the new document. Shift+click for each page or just drag and select. Then will they are highlighted drag them into the new document next to the first page. You'll know you have it right when your dragged pages "snap" to the single page in the new document. Save and then you have a new fresh document without the corruption of the old one.

Thank you for the quick and helpful response. I followed your advice and was able to drag all pages into a new project and save the new project as a different file. Then when I go to open the new file, I still get the "Project damaged" message. Sigh..... is there any hope other than redoing ALL 80 pages....???
