how to make a "jump to page number" button

I know that it is an extremely elemental question, sorry, but I can not discover how to do it.

I´m trying to convert a classic-layout book made in quark to and e-book. I can put some navigation buttons ("nex page", "previous page", "index" and similar). But I can not make a "jump to page number" button. I have try a lot of things but I can´t.
The idea is a test box in every page in which the reader could enter the number of the book page he wants, an pres intro or a "go" button an the SWF jumps to that page.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi, narci,

do you really want a text box where somebody enters the page number and you jump to that? That's easy to do:

    1. Create a text box.
    2. Name it (in Object tab) and make it an editable text box (in Object tab).
    3. Create a GO button.
    4. Name it (in Object tab) and create a "click up" event (in Events tab) for it, which triggers the action "Page > Display".
    5. For the action use the Method "Box Contents" and choose the text box created in step 2 as the Text Box Object.

    Enjoy!

This approach is easy but it has a usability issue: If the user enters a wrong page number the SWF doesn't jump. You could solve this by using a popup menu instead.

    Thanks
    Matthias

Re: how to make a "jump to page number" button

    Hello again:

Great!!. I have discover my own mistake.Basically, I`m using this method (two linked objects), but I have tree masters pages, so when copy-paste buttons between then, the reference to the test box change (quark add "Copy11" to the copied object name), so the test box is different in each master page. Sorry, now I`m aware that is a silly thing....Embarrassed

Now it works fine !!. I have near to 400 pages, so, I believe this button was useful. Should be very difficult to create any kind of pop up or message advising that the inserted page number do no exits, If it were the case?. Let me try and I will tell you.

    Thanks you very much Matthias
