    Color Management Component (v.7.31)

Error message upon launch of working installation (Mac OS 10.4.10) — "Unable to launch QuarkXPress due to a missing or damaged color management component. Reinstall the application. {10000}" Worked without problem on same system + same computer for at least 12-16 months. Have reinstalled several times on 10.4.10 computer. Tried clean install on other computer (10.5.2). Have deleted both Preferences files before re-launching. Have deleted entire program before reinstalling. . There is indeed a Color Manager.qrc file in the "Required Components" subfolder. Have searched archives herein to no avail... What is the "secret" answer?

    This Resolution should work.

Remove any special character (like $, %, &, * etc) from the HDD name and then launch.

I got this same message (Windows XP).  I deleted the preferences file; BUT in the same folder I noticed another called " XPress Preferences.bad "  Because I didn't like the spelling of that extension, I deleted it too.   Quark is opening for me now.

Doubt that this will help you; however, it may work for others with PCs.
