    paste and match style?

Is there a way in Quark to paste-and-match-style? If I copy from one Quark document to another, or from one styled paragraph in a document into any other paragraph, the copy keeps its original styling. I frequently want to lose the original styling and match the style of the new box. For instance, I might copy a piece of text out of a copy block, and paste it into a pull-quote box. It would be helpful if I could paste it in such a way that the pasted copy would automatically take on the attributes of the text block it's pasted into. I know the workarounds and alternatives, but this would be the best, quickest, and simplest solution in many cases. I could swear there was a way to do this as far back as version 3.5, but if so, I've entirely forgotten it, and I can't find any documentation on it. Does such a thing exist in Quark?

If you are using version 8 there is an option called paste without formatting in Edit menu, shortcut is cmd+option+V

     Hadn't spotted that one! Thanks.

Nope, 7.3.  Command-option-v doesn't work for me. Is there anything that worked in older versions? Maybe there used to be an Xtension that allowed this.

Well, there used to be 24U Paste Without Style. But it looks like they stopped at version 2.0 for QXP 5.x. There's Badia Software's Duplica if you are interested. Find it here.

Oh well, that $90 price tag makes it out of the question. I'll keep pasting back and forth from textedit for now. Thanks for the info.

I remember years ago there was a script that would do it, but I don't remember if it was for Quark or InDesign. I'd ask over in the scripting forum.

Thanks, good idea. I got a script I need over there and it now works as I want. Perfect.
