    Quark extension

Yeah, we are copying all our files to a backup SMP server. All of the quark documents become a funky gray icon, and when we transfer them back to our machines, they can't be opened until we add the .qxp   Is there anyway to have the extensions add to the documents as we create them, other than manually? And we have a ton of backed up files, can they have the extension added as a group?

    Thanks

    Marcia

    Re: Quark extension

Hi! It's a real pain extension cannot be added automatically from Quark. I still don not understand why. As for changing file names in one shot, I suggest you download and install the free app Renamer4Mac.app You'll be able just to add extension as you wish or totally rename files in some clicks. Very powerful indeed. Another solution would be to find back a Scripting_Ace's Apple Script which allows to add the extension to every Quark files dropped on it (.qxd for old versions and .qxp for newer versions). HTH.
