    In Yours trick is too many steps...

    And this take the time - Copy the width of your shape from the measurement palette. etc

    It is simple options and Big program like Quark should has any icon for this.

    If I have 50 - 60 vector shapes it is poorly.

    But it is good that yours solution is on forum, and thanks for this Big Smile

    Here that doesn't suffice me within last six years when I use QuarkXPress.

    The interface:

    — Notes (maybe, Suppress Printouted) without additional xtensions.
    — Modeless Usage Window;
    — Modeless Word and Character Count Window;
    — Instant application of changes in windows Modify, Paragraph and Character Attributes, Edit Character/Paragraph/Item Style.
    — Horizontal and Vertical Grid (for example, with step 1x1 mm).
    — To accelerate work with tables and transparencies.

    Work with files:
    — Import of texts and tables from OpenOffice.org;

    Drawing:
    — Color Mixer and Picker (as Kuler, as CorelDRAW) — maybe in One Color Palette: Colors, Mixer and Picker.
    — Gradients from three and more colors.
    — Multiply, Overlay, Screen, Color Dodge, Color Burn and others for native and imported objects: texts, graphic boxes and pictures.
    — Inner Shadow, Inner and Outer Glow, Bewel/Emboss Effects (as in ShadowCaster which together with Alap has got Quark Inc.)
    — Gradient fill for strokes.
    — Copy and paste edited simply contours from/to Illustrator and CorelDRAW in QuarkXPress.

    The text and tables:
    — Table and Cell Styles.
    — Headers, Footers and Cross-References.
    — Style> Underline Styles included in Character Styles Preferences.
    — Convert all text to Outlines Flag in Export to PDF and EPS Options.

    Michel, what exactly are you meaning on this? You're aware of the option to "Run Text Around All Sides" right? So is it something else?

    No this is something I brought up to them when they last came to Montreal.

    Try the following:

    1.  Input a couple of number listed multi-lines paragraphs into a text box (Formatted with a positive left indent and a corresponding negative first line indent.
    2. Draw a circle or oval overlapping the left side of the text.
    3. Apply a runaround to that circle or oval.
      All the text shifts to the right BUT the left indent in not respected.
    4. See how the runaround is applied to the text.
    5. Now select both your text box and Runaround shape and select Item->Merge->Difference.
      See how the text now respects the left indent...

    This is because Quark calculates the indent friom the position of the left boundary of the text box at the line level. When you cut out the shape, you end up moving that boundary (at the line level) hence a "better" finish.

    Where it get more complicated is when tabs are also at works. Sometimes you want the tabs to remain in place (default) but other situations call for the tab to alos follow with runaround.

    Of cource I have a script that currently does that for me but it is rather a pain as you can imagine.

    Another thread prompted this post. Here's one of my wishes. Get rid of the Roger Rabbit cartoonish GUI. Let's go back to what it used to look like or at the very least make this one look more professional.
