Five things to try when your issue file doesn't show/load in your custom app

    Hi everybody,

while helping app designers I found that a common problem is that the issue file (.zave) doesn't download/display in the custom app built with App Studio Factory.

Here are the five things I ask to check and one of them typically resolves the problem and the issue file shows just fine afterwards:

    1. Can you access the URL of the issue via Safari (ideally on an iPad)? So does the browser start downloading the .zave file?
    2. Please check the URL, does it contain a space (e.g. “http://.../My Magazine”)? Apps choke on spaces in the URL. If yes, please remove the space (don't replace by %20).
    3. In the Publishing Portal, check that the URL of the .zave does contain “http://www...” and not only “www…”.
    4. Does the release date specify a date of today or the past? If not, please correct. Even when using Test issues, the publication start date is valued, thus not yet displaying the issue.
    5. Have you logged into the Quark Issue Previewer Tester tab with your Publishing Portal password, regardless if using it on iOS Simulator or an iPad? If not, please do so, this is how Test licenses are being authorized.

    Regards
    Matthias
