    Changing line weight permanently

Hi all! I'm using Quark 8.5.1 on a Mac. I want to have the lines always draw at .5 pt. Currently, they are a hairline thickness. I closed all files, then changed the preferences. That didn't work. Then I changed the preferences, shut down and restarted. Didn't work. It's driving me nuts. How can I make the lines always draw at .5? I've done this in the past, and I thought I knew how to do it. But I guess I don't. Thanks.

It's working for me. How did you changed the prefs?

    Preferences > Tools > Select line tool > modify > .5

Keep in mind that changing the line weight while no documents are open will change the line weight for new documents only. Existing documents will still draw new lines the way they were set when the document was created, and lines that already exist won't change just because you change the preference.
