How do I create presets/actions with defined style?

Hey guys, I am working on a newspaper design. I am new to the whole desktop publishing game and I am looking for a way to easy my production process. I am looking for a way to create actions or presets if you will, which can be defined to a specific font type, font size, style, runaround etc. Basically I have a style guide that I need to follow and it's getting a bit tiresome to keep remembering what font/font size/ style goes where. Is there a way where I could create a custom presets for text boxes, image boxes that I could later just use instead of manually creating and specifying the style for each new text boxor image box that I create? thanks in advance
